BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:

The H TX TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION ENGINEERING Department of the H ENGINEERING Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Management vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt)

 

JOB FUNCTION:

Ensures efficient project closure, capital property accounting, documentation control, financial reconciliation, and project coordination. This role serves as the critical link between Engineering, Operations Planning, Finance, and Operations to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs project closing activities for completed and canceled project work orders. Completes capital property additions and removals. Tracks and enters project milestones and completions in a centralized database. Audit material usage, resolve discrepancies with the warehouse and coordinate closing of purchase orders as needed. Completes transfer requests for canceled projects or incorrect orders.
  • Coordinates electronic processing of job files and ensures proper filing of all issued jobs. Performs audit of issued job files for completeness.  Review and update project milestones.
  • Coordinates refund processing and financial reconciliation with design staff. Prepares, processes and tracks refund documentation.
  • Runs reports and maintains tracking mechanisms as requested to support management and analytics.
  • Assist design staff with incidental tasks and respond to customer inquiries as needed. 
  • Participates in Company emergency response activities as assigned, including any activities required to prepare for such emergency response.
  • Understands the Company’s Policies, Mission, Vision, Values, and are following the culture dimensions to ensure the success of the company.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge Requirements

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and methods.
  • Working knowledge of general business practices.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Willing to learn and apply SafeStart principles and best practices to achieve a safe workplace environment.

 

Skills Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to prepare effective presentations and reports using office equipment, personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written communication.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to handle confidential matters and materials discreetly and professionally.
  • Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver’s license. Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety.

 

Experience Requirements

  • Several years (3-5) of general office/administrative experience utilizing PC based programs.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for the Project Coordinator - Hilo [Req ID 9793] position is $53,400.00 to $66,800.00. The person selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
