BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:

The H DS STORES Department of the H SUPPORT SERVICES Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt)

 

JOB FUNCTION:

Issues/acquits, receives, stocks/stores, credits, salvages, and stores materials, tools and equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Receives, issues/acquits, stocks/stores, transfers, loads and unloads material, tools and equipment. Marks or tags parts, material, equipment and tools for identification.
  • Segregates returned material for reclamation/scrap; strips, cleans, and reassembles reclaimable materials; returns useable material to stock; handles credits.
  • Operates material-handling equipment and vehicles as required. May be required to pick up material from suppliers and make delivery as needed.
  • Keeps warehouse and storage areas neat, clean and orderly. Keeps tools and equipment in good order.
  • Checks gasoline, oil, tires and batteries of Warehouse vehicles and other equipment, refilling as necessary; keeps necessary records.
  • Utilizes office equipment such as computers and related software, printers, copiers, facsimile, etc. to perform the duties/responsibilities of the position.
  • Performs cycle counting and other activities as assigned.
  • Assists Tool Room Attendant & Repairer with receiving, checking, storing and issuing of tools and equipment.
  • Relieves higher classifications as required.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts.
  • Performs similar and incidental duties as required.

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support & Administrative Selection System (SASS).
    • Note: Employees who have taken and passed the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) do not need to take the SASS.
  • Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii drivers license and State of Hawaii Commercial driver’s license. Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to perceive colors necessary for the safe performance of duties.
  • Must have knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. (Interview questions will determine level of knowledge.)
  • Must have or be able to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate.

Wage: $24.33 – $43.43
