BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:

The M RM SUBSTATION & METER METER Department of the P SUBSTATION & METER Division at Hawaiian Electric Company - Maui County has 2 Bargaining Unit vacancies available. (Role: )

 

JOB FUNCTION:

Performs inspection, testing, programming and refurbishing of all types of meters and metering equipment in the shop.  Does semi-skilled AMI work in the Meter Department as assigned. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspects, tests, programs, and refurbishes all types of meters, such as single and poly phase meters. Uses equipment to test and program meters.
  • Receives meters from the field. Maintains appropriate records of all items received and issued, including maintaining data in computer systems or data bases.
  • Utilizes various office equipment such as computers and related software to perform the duties/responsibilities of the position.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs similar and incidental work as required.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Construction & Skilled Trades Selection System (CAST). 
  • Ability to identify and distinguish the difference between colors, including shades, hues and tints.
  • Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver’s license. Must meet the standards for frequent or required driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Required Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety objectives.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

 

Role: Non-Exempt

Number of Vacancies: 2 

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday

Work Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Lunch: 30 Minutes

Location: MECO Main Office – Maui

Wage: $31.75 – $31.75
